16-1Peter4:12

Objective:  Word 1 Peter 4:12 –  “Beloved”  is derived from “agape”….

1 Peter 4:12 is one of the 58 times….

ONLY 2 times the word is translated: “ Love, loved

ONE time as “dear”

POINT:  The usage of the Greek word is pertaining to one who or what which is loved – object of one’s affection… WE are that OBJECT.

4:16     Christian = this title only appears 3 times in the NT; here, Acts 11:26; 26:28; it means follower of Christ.

let him not feel ashamed = (an imperative) do not be ashamed.

let him glorify = glorify (another imperative).[1]

4:17 –

Time = season (‘kairos’ as distinct from ‘chronos’ stresses the features of a period, rather than its duration. ) Strongs #G2540  “Kairos”

Last Line – For Synonyms see #5550, chronos #5549

v 19     therefore … also = according also …; with the result that.

faithful = trustworthy, reliable (‘trustworthy Creator’ follows God in the Greek text, thus making the link very strong).

Creator = this word only appears here in the NT.  “Ktistes”  –  entrust = (or) commit, (lit.) place before.

doing what is right = (one word) rightdoing (in contrast to ‘wrongdoing’ in v.15), upright living.
