John 20:5–8 (ESV) –  “Saw”  –   an opportunity to review the dictionaries on the Greek word.

5 And stooping to look in, he saw the linen cloths lying there, but he did not go in. 6 Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb. He saw the linen cloths lying there, 7 and the face cloth, which had been on Jesus’ head, not lying with the linen cloths but folded up in a place by itself. 8 Then the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went in, and he saw and believed;

Louw Nida 24.1  24.1 ὁράω^a; εἶδος^b,ους n—‘to see, sight, seeing.’³ ὁράω^a: ἔπειτα ὤφθη ἐπάνω πεντακοσίοισφοῖς ἐφάπαξ ‘then he was seen by more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time’ 1 Cor 15:6. As in a number of other contexts, ἀδελφοῖςin 1 Cor 15:6 may be rendered as ‘fellow believers’ or simply ‘believers.’ εἶδος^b: διὰ πίστεως γὰρ περιπατοῦμεν οὐ διὰ εἴδους ‘our life is a matter of faith and not of seeing’ 2 Cor 5:7. It is also possible to interpret εἶδοςin 2 Cor 5:7 as meaning ‘what is seen’ (see 24.2).
